April 2026 marks a major milestone for GAP's Liverpool depot, achieving 30 years at the heart of the GAP depot network. So, we thought we’d go back through the archives and recreate the first-ever picture taken at the depot.
Since opening at Gilmoss Industrial Estate in April 1996 as our third depot, and moving through several locations over the years, GAP Liverpool is now proudly based at Unit 10, Brookfield Business Park, Muir Road, Aintree, Liverpool. Today, it stands as a cornerstone of our operations, strategically positioned near our Knowsley manufacturing facility for GRP doors and aluminium bifolds — creating a vital link between production and our customers.
For three decades, GAP Liverpool has been far more than just a depot. It has been a hub of teamwork, dedication, and customer support — ensuring GAP products keep flowing across the region. From the very beginning, the focus has been on building strong relationships and helping customers complete their projects on time and in full – all whilst having fun and making customers smile.
While the GAP business model has evolved — with areas such as Speke and Southport now supported by their own depots — GAP Liverpool has adapted and continues to deliver outstanding service to our customers across Central and Northern Merseyside.
The depot’s success would not have been possible without the dedication of our people. We recognise those who helped establish the depot, including Karl Owen (Depot Manager), Joanne Shaw (Credit Controller), Jon Randles (Sales) and Lenny Coward (Ops) — all of whom continue to play important roles within GAP today. They were supported in the early days by our wonderful colleagues Ronnie Stubbs, Paul White, and Wayne McCullock.
Today, under the leadership of Depot Manager Ste Long, the Liverpool team continues to demonstrate excellence in customer service, product expertise, operational efficiency, and teamwork — cementing GAP’s reputation as a trusted partner for trade customers across Liverpool.
As we celebrate this 30-year milestone, we thank everyone who has contributed to Liverpool’s fantastic journey. Your hard work, passion, and commitment have made this success possible. Here’s to the next chapter and many more years to come.
