GAP Welcomes Four Engineering Apprentices

At GAP, building the future means more than producing high-quality products – it’s also about investing in people, expertise, and experience to ensure long-term success. That’s why we’re delighted to welcome four new engineering apprentices – Joe, Jacob, Maciej and Callum – who have recently joined the business.

Their arrival marks a significant step in strengthening our engineering capabilities, a function that plays a crucial role in supporting both our operations and our customers. By championing apprenticeships, GAP is helping to secure the skills and knowledge required for future growth, while giving young people the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build lasting careers within the industry.

The new apprentices will be guided by experienced leaders, including Bob Hill, our Engineering Manager, and Lee Cook, our R&D Manager, who together bring decades of expertise. Working under their mentorship, alongside the wider skilled engineering team, will give the apprentices valuable insight into both operational excellence and innovative development, ensuring they are well-equipped to grow within the business.

Dave Sykes, our Head of Group Manufacturing (Blackburn & Knowsley), commented:

“It’s great to have young talent join the business. They will now settle into their new roles, learn as they go, and we’ll do all we can to support them under the expert guidance of Bob and Lee. Apprenticeships allow us to bring a fresh perspective, ambition, and energy to the business. By investing in apprenticeships, we’re not only future-proofing GAP but also helping to build a more diverse, inclusive, and skilled workforce for the years to come.”

We look forward to supporting Joe, Jacob, Maciej and Callum as they begin their journey with us – and we’re excited to see the contribution they’ll make as part of the GAP team.
