Global 600Over the years conservatories have become increasingly popular, as the UK population look for ways of increasing the size and floor space of their homes, without having to look at expensive bricks and mortar extensions or having to relocate. To help our customers compete in this growing market, Gap has brought a wide variety of conservatories accessories to market from Air Conditioning Units to Slimline Panels Heaters, whilst offering the UK’s leading Low Pitched Roof Global 600.

Low Pitched Conservatory Roof

global600, the new low pitch roof system is now available from GAP. Unlike other systems, global600 has been specifically designed for the UK market. Other systems are based on a metric system for ease of calculation with 500mm intervals. Trying to match up doors and windows underneath however is difficult. No-one would put in a pair of one meter wide French doors. But that is what matches up with the glazing bars on a standard system. global600 is based on the imperial system, with glazing bars two feet apart (600mm) so a set of standard 1,200mm French doors align perfectly. GAP chose 600mm as much of the UK housing stock is based in multiples of 2 feet, and gives an overall feeling of harmony with existing doors and windows.

Conservatory 1   Conservatory 2

global600 looks good, installs easily and reduces waste. As with all new products from GAP, the new low pitch conservatory roof had been designed with installers in mind.

As well as making the alignment of doors and windows easier, having the glazing bars further apart allows more light into the building below. And global600 is fixed from the inside. Conservatory installers don’t want to climb on half built roofs – so it’s safer and quicker too. A custom-built wall plate has been designed for ease of installation. The wall-plate is offered up to the wall along a guideline. For added strength the fixings pass through a channel and securely into the brickwork. The polycarbonate is dropped into place and a single nut locks into place either end from the inside. The pitch can go as low as 2.5° and water cannot track back with the deep drip end closure. The new roof comes in single or double packs. So installers can buy exactly what they want without having extra waste.
