GAP delivers double digit growth
- Posted: 21/08/2008
Sales at GAP, the UK’s leading home improvement stockist, continue their encouraging progress with a double digit sales growth year on year, ahead of their expectations.
The increase in sales omes off the back of the introduction of several new home improvement products designed to give its customers more to go at. GAP has added 500 new products to its range including insulation, tudor boards, cast iron effect rainwater and roof windows. Sales of the new lines provide an indication that its customer base is being proactive in their approach to sales, through adding new products to their portfolio.
Since GAP re-branded itself from a PVC-U stockist to home improvement stockist, its customer base has grown reflecting the wider selection of products it stocks from their 11 distribution centres.
Joint Managing Director Simon Bird comments: “These new products are proving popular with customers who are diversifying and growing as a result. We took a gamble adding so many new products all at once, but we felt it was a gamble we had to make to help our customers. We’re attracting new customers to visit GAP too. All of this is helping us increase sales in a difficult market. With new initiatives in the pipeline we are working flat out in the hope this success will continue.”
Fresh new look for Cosmopolitan

A new marketing initiative has been launched to promote GAP¹s successful Cosmopolitan brand of door panels due to increasing demand.
The initiative includes a new consumer focused logo backed up with a stylish brochure designed with homeowners in mind. The literature features a slimmed down range of door panels which has 10 new additions, together with stunning glass photography that illustrates the quality of Cosmopolitan glass designs. The design reaffirms GAP¹s commitment to use 100% glass in its doors rather than plastic resin bevels.
We have looked at the whole Cosmopolitan package and made it as easy as possible for customers to sell,² explains Joint Managing Director Simon Bird. ³The range has always sold well but we wanted to keep it as fresh and contemporary as possible, making sure installers are ahead of the game. It¹s this approach that has help boost our sales while other panel manufacturers suffer a decline.²
The range includes new slim-line door panels for narrower apertures.
